12-year-old hit by car in Glastonbury near middle school

GLASTONBURY–A child was hit by a car on Thursday afternoon after school, according to Glastonbury Police.

The 12-year-old boy who was hit is a middle school student, and was hit by a car on Addison Road, right in front of Smith Middle School. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m.

According to police, the boy suffered several injuries, but none of them are considered life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that they believe the car that hit the boy stayed at the scene, but that the investigation is ongoing so they could not make an official comment on that.
