BRIDGEPORT — A Connecticut man who was cleared by a jury of charges connected to a shooting at a Bridgeport housing complex that left one person dead and eight others injured has been convicted of unrelated drug charges.

The Connecticut Post reports that 24-year-old Jamal “Moo Moo” Hamilton pleaded guilty Monday to four counts of sale of heroin and one count of sale of heroin within 1,500 feet of a school. He faces up to 13 years in prison when he’s sentenced Dec. 2.

Prosecutors said Hamilton sold heroin to a witness cooperating with police.

A Superior Court jury in June found Hamilton not guilty of murder and eight counts of first-degree assault for the June 11, 2015 shooting at the Trumbull Gardens housing project.
