Max Classic raises over $165k for charity

WEST HARTFORD - It was great weather for some golf Monday and on Monday evening the 16th Annual Max Classic was held at the Hartford Country Club.

The golf tournament benefits the Arthritis Foundation, Camp Courant, the First Tee, Connecticut Children's Law Center and Covenant Prep.

FOX 61's Jim Altman joined Max Restaurant Group CEO Rich Rosenthal as the emcee and auctioneer of the evening.

This year they raised $168,000 and over the  past 15 years the Max Classic Tournament has raised  $2 million for charity.

Guests were treated to fare from famed Hartford area eateries like Max Downtown, Max Fish, Max Oyster Bar and the soon to open pizza restaurant, Savoy.

Tournament organizers gave a big thanks goes to the Ruben Horan law firm and the Travelers Championship, who were the main sponsors.
