HARTFORD — It’s National Voter Registration Day and people will be signing up in Connecticut and across the country.

According to the official website dedicated to National Voter Registration Day, six million Americans didn’t vote in 2008 because they missed a registration deadline.

“In 2016, we want to make sure no one is left out,” the site says. “On September 27, 2016, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” for National Voter Registration Day.”

The deadline to register is October 14 if you want to vote in this upcoming general election. Election Day is Tuesday, November 8.
