WEST SPRINGFIELD — A proposal during a concert Friday night at the Big E got a shout out from country music star Lee Brice.

Mike Barile popped the question and Tran Nguyen said yes in the front row of the concert. Barile had made arrangements with the singer’s management to pull the surprise off.

Brice stopped the song halfway through and pointed out the Windsor Locks couple from the stage during one of the final songs of the concert.

“We just got to be a part of somebody getting engaged up here,” Brice said from the stage as rain fell on the crowd. He then dedicated the song to the pair asked the crowd to sing to them. The couple hugged, then danced and raised their arms together in celebration.

Celebrating it’s 100th year, the Big E continues through Sunday at the Eastern States Exposition.
