SOUTH WINDSOR – South Windsor Police said that a cleaning lady stole jewelry from a South Windsor client.

On Wednesday, police arrested Ashley Levitt, 31, of Bolton.

Police said the charge stems from a May 2016 complaint by a South Windsor resident that she’d found jewelry missing and suspected that her cleaning lady, Levitt, stole it. Police said they interviewed Levitt and recovered a piece of missing jewelry but other items remained missing. Police said they followed up with area pawn shops and found Leavitt had pawned some of the victim’s jewelry. Police said that Leavitt’s boyfriend had also pawned some of the stolen items, so police got a warrant for Robert Berube, 30, also of Bolton.

Levitt was charged with third-degree larceny and fifth-degree larceny. Berube was charged with fourth-degree larceny and he was later released on $15,000 bail. Levitt was later released on $5,000 bail. Both are due in Manchester Superior Court on Thursday, October 6.
