CHESHIRE – A juvenile has turned himself into police for making an explosive device in a wooded area in Cheshire, according to police.

Police said that on Monday, September 26, a juvenile surrendered himself into police custody on an outstanding arrest warrant that stemmed from an investigation conducted by The Cheshire Police Department, with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New Haven Field Office in January.

Police said that the arrested juvenile and a co-conspirator were actively engaged in researching and producing explosive devices in a wooded area between Highland Avenue (Route 10) and Academy Road (Route 68/70).

The juvenile was charged with manufacturing a bomb, conspiracy to manufacture a bomb and reckless endangerment.

A warrant for the second suspect is still pending, according to police.
