Danbury police investigating woman’s death

DANBURY — Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding  a woman who was found dead Saturday afternoon. Around 1:30 p.m. police were called to a home at 26 South St. for a report of shots fired.

Officers found a 31-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The female was pronounced dead at the scene.

Monday, police identified her as Sherrie Blount, 31, of Danbury. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.
