Car fire causes delays on I-84 westbound at exit 33 in Plainville

PLAINVILLE — I-84 Westbound was closed in Plainville Monday morning, state police said. The highway was closed just before 10:30 a.m. at exit 33 and 32 for a truck fire and a hazmat situation. Around 11 a.m. the left and center lane reopened, but the right lane and shoulder remained closed.

Troopers diverted traffic off I-84 in the area of I-691. They ask that people reduce speed approaching the area and expect delays.

State police said no one was injured.
