TORRINGTON–Police in Torrington arrested a city employee after investigating the theft of city property.

In August, the Torrington Police Detective Bureau got a complaint that members of the Department of Public Works were stealing city-owned poperty.

On Wednesday, police arrested Robert Lizotte, 60. Lizotte, who is the superintendent of streets in Torrington, lives in Bethlehem.

Lizotte is charged with larceny in the first degree and was released on a $2,500 bond. He’ll be in court October 24.

More arrests are possible as the investigation progresses, police said.
