SHARON  — A man who was wanted for a violent assault at his home last month, has been extradited from New York where he had been in custody for more than a week.

Raymond Sprague, 28, of Sharon, was wanted in connection with the bloody assault of his former girlfriend and another woman.

Sprague was located and taken into custody in Millerton, NY on September 28. He was extradited to Connecticut and is expected to be arraigned on assault charges Thursday, stemming from an incident on September 26.

That day, police were called a home in Sharon for a domestic disturbance. Troopers found an aggressive dog, a woman who had injuries to her head and face, another woman with injuries to her hand, shattered glass at the front door, a weapon and a man who was uninjured.

One the women said she had recently broke up with Sprague, and he had been calling that evening, threatening to kill her and her family. She told police that in order to get home, she had to stop by the suspect’s residence. That’s when Sprague came out and attacked both women according to the victims. The dog also attacked one of the victims and dragged her several feet. Police were on the scene for 18 hours believing that he was inside the house or nearby. They later determined he had ran off. Police found a loaded pistol in the home for which he did not have a permit.

Two days later, Sprague was taken into custody in nearby Millerton, NY, police said. He is held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
