WINDSOR LOCKS — State Police arrested a Wethersfield man after they say he made threats against the trooper who stopped and cited him for traffic violations.

Police said a trooper stopped Thomas Eldridge, 24, of Windsor Locks on Thursday for misuse of plates, tinted windows, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to carry insurance. Eldridge’s car was towed from the scene.

The tow truck operator who was removing the car from the scene told police that Eldridge made several statements about killing the trooper with a firearm. Police said Eldridge made other threats to injure the trooper.

Police arrested Eldridge at his home in Wethersfield and charged him with inciting injury to persons, breach of peace, and threatening. He was held on $100,000 bond. and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
