HAMDEN--The Quinnipiac Bobcats hosted the UConn Huskies in Hamden Wednesday night in an interstate hockey matchup. The number four ranked Bobcats got on the board first just over eight minutes into the first period when Andrew Taverner found the net with a laser shot.

Quinnipiac would lead 2-0 after the first, and then in the second period the scoring came fast and furious for the teams.

With 11 minutes left, Karl El-Mir cleaned up a juicy rebound and pulled UConn to within a goal 3-2. From there Bobcats would take control, scoring two goals in just over a minute to take a 5-2 lead, which was the final.

Bobcats next hit the ice on Saturday when they travel to Beantown to face the Boston University Terriers while the Uconn will get a chance to rebound Friday at the XL Center in Hartford against the Yellow Jackets of American University.
