HARTFORD — Police raided an apartment on Zion Street Friday night, arresting eight people and seizing a large quantity of drugs, a gun and cash.

Hartford Police executed a search warrant for an apartment at  535/537 Zion St., 2nd floor north apartment. Detectives had information that there were several people selling illegal narcotics from the apartment and they had of firearms.

Police said security cameras outside the building tipped off the people inside that officers were approaching and several people ran out the back door.

Police were able to detain the people who fled the apartment. During the search, authorities located a loaded .22 caliber firearm, 470 bags of heroin and 270 bags of crack.  Outside the apartment, Detectives located 13 fentanyl patches, $300.00 in cash and 10 bags of heroin.

The following people were arrested:

Armando Colon, 47, of Hartford, was charged with criminal trespass, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Eduardo Ortiz, 33, Hartford, was charged with criminal trespass 3rd, possession of narcotics.

Frank White, 58, Hartford, was charged with criminal trespass 3rd, possession of narcotics.

Bradley Gonzalez, 36, of Hartford, was charged with possession of narcotics, interfering with police.

Ramon Benitez, 33, of Hartford, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of narcotics, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of plates, insufficient insurance.

Hipolito Aldana, 21, of Hartford, was charged with criminal trespass 3rd, possession controlled substance.

Teresita Castro-Luna, 52, of Hartford, was charged with criminal trespass 3rd.

Luis Rivera, 38, of Hartford was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell narcotics, interfering with search warrant.
