BRISTOL — A man was arrested after killing another man at his own home late Friday afternoon. Bristol Police responded to a  home on Woodland Street around 5:30 p.m. after 9-1-1 reports indicated gunshots had went off in the area.

Police found the victim lying in the driveway and bleeding out from a gunshot wound to the chest. Daniel Caron, 63, was rushed to Bristol Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In the meantime, officers located a suspect nearby and determined he was the homeowner.  Chad Couture, 35, was booked at the Bristol Police Department and charged with 1st Degree Manslaughter by Use of a Firearm and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

Investigators recovered several key pieces of incriminating evidence against Couture from within his home, including a handgun, police said.

Couture is being held on a $500,000 cash bond pending an upcoming court hearing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crime is asked to contact the Bristol Police Department at (860) 584-3000.
