VERNON – A road in Vernon is closed after a gas line was struck.
The Vernon Police Department said a road closure is impacting Merline Road only Friday morning, between route 30 and Vernwood Drive. The repair is estimated to take at least 12 hours to complete, according to police.
Police said the gas company is on the scene and that about 200 Eversource gas customers in the area will be impacted until the extended repair is complete. No evacuations were ordered as the impacted area is limited at this time, according to police. The Vernon Fire Department is assisting.
