Family dog killed in Watertown house fire

WATERTOWN–A fire ripped through a home in Watertown on Tuesday afternoon, doing extensive damage and leaving a pet dead.

A fire started in a garage, and then spread to a home on Grandview Avenue just after noon on Monday. The fire extended to the upper floors, and house is a complete loss due to the damage.

The family’s dog died in the fire, but no one else was injured. The homeowner was home, but got out safely.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
