CHESHIRE - Police are on the lookout for a suspect they said assaulted a woman on Wednesday.

A 46-year-old woman was walking near Strathmore Drive in Cheshire just after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday when she was approached from behind. A man grabbed her shoulders from behind so she couldn't move, then reached his other hand between her legs. The woman said he then ran off towards Newbridge Circle.

The woman described the suspect as a white male in his late teens, about 5-foot-10 with an athletic build and short, black hair. He was wearing a tray t-shirt and red shorts.

According to police, his description and how he attacked the woman are consistent with other reported incidents in town.

Police canvassed the neighborhood, but didn't find anything.

Cheshire Police say they'll provide additional patrols in residential neighborhoods.
