Sunday will be bright and breezy with winds out of the northwest at 10-20 mph. Temperatures will also be slightly cooler, in the low-mid 50s.

It will turn milder next week, especially on Election Day when some of us will cast our ballots without a jacket on. Highs on Tuesday will climb into the 60s with fair skies.

Our weather looks dry for the foreseeable future thanks to a big ridge of high pressure that will dominate most of the nation. There is still a lot of work to do in eliminating the drought. But the latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report has 69% of the state in a severe drought. That is down from last week’s 88 percent.

Forecast Details:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, not as cool. Low 40.

Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny, breezy.  High: Low 50s.

Monday: Sunny. High: Low 50s.

Election Day: Fair, warmer. High: 60-65.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, cooler. High: 55-60.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. High: 50s.

Friday: Partly sunny. High: 50s.
