NEW YORK – Hillary Clinton gave her concession speech following her Tuesday night loss to Donald Trump.
She said she spoke to Trump and offered to work with him on behalf of the country.
“We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead,” Clinton said.
Clinton said the nation “is more deeply divided than we thought,” and told supporters they must accept outcome.
“I know how disappointed you feel because I feel it too,” Clinton said to her supporters. “I’m sorry that we did not win this election. I want each of you to know that you were the best campaign. This loss hurts, but please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it.
Clinton also thanked President Barak Obama.
“Our country owes you an enormous debt of gratitude,” she said of him.
Clinton also had a message to young girls.
“To all the little girls watching… never doubt that you are valuable and powerful & deserving of every chance andd opportunity in the world.”
