HARTFORD - Missy is a 7-year-old spayed female Chihuahua.

She is a sweet little nugget of a dog, but she is terrified of many things.

She was under-socialized in her last home, and the world to her is a big bad place.

She is more comfortable with people she knows and trusts, but she keeps a “short list.”

She could be brought around, but it’s clear with Missy, that she prefers a small group of friends. If she knows you and you are her preferred person, she will trust and love you to pieces.

She gets along with other dogs, particularly if they are calm, friendly, and confident, and actually benefits from their presence.

She would do best in a quiet home with another quiet dog, who simply needs a companion. She also needs people who are patient and gentle, and understand her shy qualities.
