HARTFORD — The Secretary of the State’s Office is ordering a recount in a third close race for the Connecticut House of Representatives.

Denise Merrill‘s office on Thursday added the 53rd Assembly District to the list.

In that race, preliminary election results show incumbent Republican Rep. Sam Belsito of Tolland holding a 47-vote lead over his Democratic challenger, Susan Eastwood of Ashford.

State law also requires recounts in the 99th Assembly District, which includes East Haven, and the 103rd Assembly District, which includes Cheshire, Southington and Wallingford.

In the 99th District, incumbent Democratic Rep. James Albis leads Republican Steve Tracey by 14 votes.

In the 103rd District, Democrat Liz Linehan leads Republican Andrew Falvey by 54 votes.

The recounts must be completed by Nov. 16.
