Two high school football teams battle to remain unbeaten Friday night

SHELTON -- Two high school football teams stayed unbeaten after Friday night.

The 8-0 West Haven Blue Devils traveled to Shelton as the Gaels looked to bounce back from their from their first loss of the season last week.

The teams would trade the lead several times and the game would not be decided to the closing seconds.

With under 20 seconds left Kyle Godfrey took the hand off and would go airborne over the goal line giving West Haven the 59-52 victory.

Farther up the Naugatuck valley the Ansonia Chargers also moved to 9-0 as they easily go past the Crusaders of Holy Cross 68-14.
