One dead in car fire on Charter Oak Bridge

HARTFORD - A man died in a car fire on the Charter Oak Bridge Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened on the north bound lanes of Routes 5 and 15 in Hartford shortly before 3 p.m. The unidentified man died in the sedan.

State police said that Route 5 and 15 northbound was closed but the highway has since reopened.

State police are asking witnesses to contact Troop H in Hartford.
