HARTFORD – A Bloomfield citizen activist’s group is pushing for protestors to show up at public hearing on drinking water in Hartford Wednesday afternoon.
The group is calling for a protest prior to meetings being held by the Metropolitan District Commission.
They said MDC raised 2016 water and sewer rates, “while passing special ordinances to give high-volume discounts to Niagara Bottling.”
They claim the MDC did this without public knowledge or input.
Protesters are being rallied on social media to show up and demonstrate at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday outside of MDC’s office on Main Street, prior to public meetings that start at 5 p.m.
