NEWINGTON--Two teams in Newington are being recognized for their huge achievements.
The Knights Pee Wee cheerleaders and Midget football team are both headed to the national championship, an honor that no athletic team in the town has had since 2007.
The cheerleaders will compete in Florida in December, and the football team will play in Indiana over Thanksgiving weekend, but they both need help to fund their trips. They've raised more than $1,500, but need to double that.
A pancake breakfast is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday to help raise money.
