Ellenville, NY - It is a place that looks to be in the middle of nowhere, which is part of the reason people go there.

Northeast Off-Road Adventures has a business model that is  built around the road less traveled - they have 68 acres worth of those.

"We are an off-road driving school with trails, anything from beginner to intermediate to advanced," said Scott Trager, the owner of Northeast Off Road Adventures.

With a fleet of suped-up Jeeps, Trager and his team are teachers first, and fun ambassadors second, offering four-wheel driving courses that will challenge any driver.

"Anyone can learn to drive off-road," Trager said. "We're focused on the safe techniques."

Rocks, steeps, logs, inclines are all covered - first in an outdoor classroom setting and then behind the wheel.

"We try to show the customers that their vehicle is more capable than they are aware and how to push the limits of that," NORA's lead instructor Jon Mapes said,

Trager said the courses are geared to cover all types of obstacles, at low-speed.

"We're just crawling along, looking at the scenery and just enjoying the woods," he said. "We say it's an adrenaline rush at three miles per hour."

You can bring your own vehicle or rent one of NORA's jeeps for the day. Find out more here.
