BLOOMFIELD--A group of teenagers made a big difference for some families this Thanksgiving.
The Power of Peace group raised $3,200 for Foodshare's Thanksgiving program, and also donated some turkeys.
Nearly 16,000 local families have requested a turkey for this Thanksgiving, and so far nearly 10,000 have been donated.
The money raised by the kids will go towards feeding more families.
"We want to promote change as a young group, and help our community, because this is our world, and if we don't help it, no one else will," said Sreenidhi Nair, a 16-year-old from West Hartford who is with the Power of Peace.

Foodshare says that every $30 actually equals 75 meals! That means the kids' donation equals about 8,000 meals!
