HARTFORD -- The new-look State Senate, now tied, 18-18, with the addition of three members on the GOP side.  One of them, George Logan, of Ansonia, who defeated 12-term incumbent Democrat Joe Crisco, talks about his win, and his priorities.

Connecticut Democrats may be wondering if it's time for some changes after Republicans won numerous seats in the General Assembly.

Voters sent the party a mixed message. While electing more GOP state lawmakers, creating an historic tie in the Senate, they overwhelmingly elected Democratic U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and all five Democratic U.S. House members.

Lori Pelletier of the Connecticut AFL-CIO says better coordination among Democratic candidates is needed. She says union voters supported Hillary Clinton and the congressional candidates, but were upset with legislative candidates who have backed Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his policies, including budget cuts.

The Democratic governor has been at odds with state unions after laying off thousands of workers to help balance Connecticut's budget.

He denies he's to blame for the election losses.
