HARTFORD -- Tens of thousands of people are running and cheering on the Manchester Road Race Thursday and with all of those people means lots of cars and traffic.  Here what you need to know:

Great Path Road is temporarily closed. Please use the East Parking Lot: Take Exit #1 of I-384 and head east toward Manchester, past ShopRite and McDonalds.  At the bottom of the hill turn Right onto Hartford Road, then turn Right onto Bidwell Street.  The college entrance is on your Right (Ramey Drive).  Follow the signs to the East Parking Lot.

The annual race will be televised on FOX 61 on race day with reports from Manchester on Good Day Connecticut all morning long and then live race coverage from 9-11 a.m.

“We are very grateful for their coverage of our road race,” said Tris Carta, President of the road race committee.  “We hope that anyone who is unable to be present on Main Street Thanksgiving morning to see the race will be able to join in the fun and excitement of our event by tuning in to these broadcasts.”

Carta stopped by FOX 61's Good Morning Connecticut Tuesday to talk about race security and the shuttle system. He also went over the need for the new location for the blood drive, which will now be held at Manchester High School.
