KENSINGTON - This Thanksgiving, a great American tradition kicked off once again on a great American holiday.

"It was just a big neighborhood game and as the years progressed, I started inviting more and more of my friends and then we added in the food drive last year and it`s just been a big thing of getting friends and family," said Noah Mihalko of Berlin.

It was the Fifth Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive Neighborhood Football Game. True to its name, a large donation box was displayed for those who could offer some assistance for those in need.

"I`m thankful for everything," said Kyle Carlone of Berlin. "My friends, family, and that`s why you do the food drive because some people don`t get to have this experience and it`s really sad to think that."

More than 20 kids between 10-18 played on a field complete with referees, sidelines, and even an announcer.

While people in attendance were certainly thankful for good health and good times, they said it is also a reminder that this holiday isn't just about a great meal, but the people and memories that are made - something to truly be thankful for.

"I`ve known some of these kids since they were two and three so I`ve watched them grow," said Mihalko. "They got talent in school, talent on the field... just great people and I'm really proud of all of them and really happy to be a part of this."
