ROCKVILLE--A holiday tradition that lay dormant for 40 years was resurrected last year, and now the tradition continues.

Last year, volunteers in the Rockville section of Vernon spent their time and money to bring back "Santa's House is Coming to Town" to Central Park in Rockville, and it's standing again!

It was launched on Friday as part of the town's Winterfest festivities, but Santa's House will be open on Saturdays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through December 18.

Michael Wendus, the president of the event, said, "It's great because it's old fashioned, it's outside, it's free, and it's for everybody to enjoy. The elements are actually part of it, you know, rain, wind, cold, snow, whatever you get. That's part of seeing Santa in his own house."

Donations to keep the tradition alive for years to come can be sent to Santa's House Is Coming to Town, P.O. Box 693, Rockville, Connecticut 06066.
