HARTFORD -- Students in Hartford Monday took part in "the hour of code." It's a global movement highlighting the important of computer science education.

6th through 12th graders from Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy showed off their skills to younger students, administrators, and parents. One class in particular explained their robotics projects. The class was added to the curriculum three years ago.

"I'm so impressed with what my kids come up with still as well," said Heather Sharp, HMTCA Math Department Chair and Robotics Teacher. "They teach me something new every day that I didn't even know could be possible but they've figure it out. They really have a great mind for programming and building.

Students in the robotics class demonstrated their animal pet robots. It's just one of the many projects the class takes on throughout the year.
