SOUTHINGTON -- Police officers who sported facial hair all last month for "No Shave November" finally got it trimmed down.

Now that it's December, the officers got their beards shaped up at Sculptures Salon.

Their efforts all last month helped benefit the Curtis Robinson Center at Saint Francis Hospital and their against fight prostate cancer.

"Not only do we want to help the folks that don't have the means to do it through Mr. Robinson's foundation, we want to get the word out. Get yourself checked. Catch this early. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. Go to your doctor. Have the exam. Catch it early and it's curable," said Lt. Michael Baribault of the Southington Police Department.

When the donations were tallied, they raised  $3,880.
