HARTFORD -- Snow started to fall across the state Sunday night, making roads slick and causing drivers to slow down.

The storm is expected to drop moderate amounts of snow through Monday morning.  Forecasters said to expect a few inches of snow before a changeover to rain, which will likely wash away most of the accumulation. The higher snow totals are expected in the higher elevations in Litchfield County.

State Police spokesperson Trooper Kelly Grant said there would be extra patrols on the roads.  Department of Transportation Kevin Nursick said crews had been out earlier to treat the roadways.
