HARTFORD -- The United Way is hosting their annual Stuff the Sleigh event and they are asking local workplaces and individuals to support the program by donating new hats, mittens and gloves, for children ages K-3. Your workplace can also host a drive.
Many children don’t have warm winter accessories, yet those who have them are more likely to attend school. Collected supplies will be delivered to students throughout central and northeastern Connecticut.
On Wednesday and Thursday, people are being asked to drop off their donations at 30 Laurel Street in Hartford. The donated items will be delivered to students in Hartford schools on Friday and schools in the surrounding towns/cities will also benefit in the weeks to follow.
