STAMFORD — Stamford Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal pedestrian accident on November 5th.

Police say around 7:28 a.m., Karina Tinajero-Arreguib, 18, was walking to Stamford HIgh School to take the SATs. While crossing Strawberry Hill Avenue, not in a crosswalk, she was struck by a Chevrolet Express van.  Tinajero-Arreguib was taken to Stamford Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

Saturday morning, December 17th, Stamford Police went to a resident on Fieldstone Road and took Wilson R. Villa-Cabrera into custody, charged with Misconduct with a Motor Vehicle. Police are citing that there was no evidence that speed, distracted driving, or driving under the influence had anything to do with the crash, and Mr. Villa-Cabera had an adequate line of side and enough road width in which he shouldn’t have struck Tinajero-Arreguib.

Mr. Villa-Cabrera is being held on $50,000 bond and his Ecuador passport has been seized.
