Person suffers serious injuries after being hit by rental pickup truck in Manchester

MANCHESTER — A person suffered serious injuries on Friday night in Manchester.

Around 6:45 p.m. a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Deming Street. Police say a rented Home Depot pickup truck hit the person near McDonald’s, by the I-84 entrance ramp. This is just about a mile away from the busy Buckland Hills Mall.

Police are saying that the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was treated by EMS and taken to Hartford Hospital. He remains in critical condition.

The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators. He was uninjued.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.

Manchester Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has additional information to contact Officer Gaudino at 860-553-8651.
