DERBY  — Police arrested a man after he got in a crash and it was determined he was drunk.

Police say they responded to a crash around 1:30 p.m. on December 18 at the intersection of Route 121 and Route 34 in Orange. They found that one of the drivers involved in the crash had in fact just left the scene of another crash in Derby.

Field sobriety tests done on the side of the road showed the driver, Antonio Bazar, 33, of West Haven, was under the influence of alcohol.

Three young children were in the car at the time of the crash, leading to additional charges.

Bazar is charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, driving under the influence and following too close. He was arraigned on December 19 and held on $5,000 bond, and is due in court again on January 10.
