CLINTON — For the third time, a man from Clinton has been arrested on child pornography charges.

Austin Haughwout is charged with possessing child porn in the third degree. He was released on a promise to appear in court on January 10.

Haughwout first was in the news in June 2014 when a woman attacked him at Hammonasset Beach State Park because he was flying a drone over the beach.

He reentered the news a year later when a video of a drone he built with a gun attached was viewed more than a million times on YouTube.

In June 2016, Haughwout was arrested for possession of child pornography, enticing a minor with a computer, fourth-degree attempted sexual assault and risk of impairing morals.

In July 2016, a federal judge ordered Austin’s father, Bret Haughwout, and Austin to testify under oath and hand over documents about the weaponized drones shown in YouTube videos firing a gun and deploying a flame thrower in their Clinton backyard.

Then in October 2016, Haughwout was again arrested on new charges of enticing a minor, fourth-degree attempted sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
