WATERBURY — A daycare worker has has been charged with assaulting  a second child in her care.

Adnelly Moipard, 60, of Naugatuck, was charged Thursday with Assault in the third degree, Risk of injury to a minor, and Cruelty to persons in connection with injuries to a 5-year-old boy that happened November 4.

Police investigated a complaint that the boy was assaulted while at Kids Town Day Care Facility located on Wolcott Street in Waterbury. They determined Moipard, an employee of the daycare, assaulted the boy.

Her bond was set at $10,000 and she will appear in Waterbury Superior Court later this week.

On October 24, a mother picked her three-year-old daughter up from the daycare and noticed that the girl’s arm was “hanging” strangely by her side. When she asked the teacher about it, the woman said that the girl was “acting up” and hurt her arm while throwing books around the classroom.

The girl was taken to the hospital that night after the arm began bruising and swelling, and x-rays showed several fractures in her bone.

Moipard was arrested and charged with assault in the third degree, risk of injury to a child and cruelty to persons in connection with that case in November.

The facility has surrendered its license.
