SOUTH WINDSOR — South Windsor police responded to a residence Saturday morning after a report of an accidental shooting.
Police say around 9:50 a.m., dispatchers received a call for a shooting at 96 Gail Lane, South Windsor.
Officers learned that a father at the residence shot his 23 year-old son in the abdomen while showing him a 9mm handgun.
The victim was conscious and alert when officers arrived and taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Police interviewed other family members at the scene and say their preliminary investigation indicates it was an accidental shooting.
