BRIDGEPORT — Police arrested two teens in connection with a shooting that injured 6 people at a Sweet 16 party in November.

A 15-year-old was charged with criminal attempt at assault in the first degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of firearms, reckless endangerment in the first degree and breach of peace in the second degree.

A 17-year-old was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearms, reckless endangerment in the first degree and breach of peace in the second degree.

On November 13, 2016 around 10:40 p.m., Bridgeport police were called to Club Sportivo about a large fight inside and outside the club. Police then began to get calls of “shots fired” at the same location. A Sweet 16 party was underway at the time.

The party was initially “invite only” until 10 p.m., when the club started to charge general admission for an “after party.” Some people entering the club were patted down by men acting as security. Police say unwanted guests crashed the party and soon a fight started. Several men were seen with guns inside the club. During the fight, gunshots were heard outside.

Police say five people were shot and taken to local hospitals for their gunshot wounds. Another gunshot victim was found but did not seek initial medical attention. Everyone shot survived their injuries.

Police say this is still an ongoing investigation.
