EAST HARTFORD — A man was struck and killed by a snow plow in East Hartford during Tuesday afternoon’s blizzard.

Dispatchers were called around 3:10 p.m. to the Willow Arms Apartments on Main Street.

Police said Daniel Baerga, 83, of 446 Main Street, was hit by a plow truck as it was backing up and taken to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver of the plow, 47-year-old Kevin Berry of Broad Brook, is distraught about the accident and is fully cooperating with them.
