NEWINGTON -- CT Fastrak riders are on the edge of their seats after a recent attack.

Two juveniles were taken into custody in connection with the theft of a cell phone and a fight at a CT Fastrak station.

State police said they were called to Cedar Street Station in Newington on March 17 for a physical altercation on one of the buses between numerous juveniles and passengers.

Police said the juveniles attacked the victims and stole a cell phone. Newington and New Britain police located two juveniles near the station, and the cell phone was found on one of them.

The two were charged with larceny, breach of peace, and interfering with an emergency call. They were not identified due to their age and released to their guardians.

“I think it’s ridiculous,” says Sergio Dejesus, a frequent Fast Track rider. He now says he has to keep an extra eye on his belongings.

“Keep your stuff in your pockets, keep it close to you. And watch out for people that you don’t know,” says Dejesus.

But this isn’t the first time violence was witnessed. Several passengers say they’ve also seen other acts of violence.

“Some threaten the bus driver then they, they opened the door then out he goes running,” says Edgardo Rivera, a daily rider from Hartford.

Connecticut State Police say they are still looking for other juveniles involved with the incident.

The case is still under investigation.
