CANTERBURY — One person was killed after being trapped under a tree Saturday afternoon.
Around 4:20 p.m., State Police from Troop D responded to 74 Goodwin Road in Canterbury for a reported tree cutting accident with injuries.
State police said Matthew Veloce was cutting down a tree with a chainsaw when the tree fell on him. His wife found him trapped under the tree.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
State police said there was no criminal aspect in this incident.
