4 people seriously injured in Norfolk crash

NORFOLK — Four people were seriously injured in a crash on Route 44 Sunday afternoon.

State police said two Lifestar medical helicopters had been called to take patients to the hospital after a head on collision between two cars. Two other parties were transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital were they were later flown by Lifestar to Hartford Hospital.

Route 44 was closed for several hours at the East Canaan – Norfolk town line. The road has reopened.

The crash remains under investigation. State police are asking anyone with information to please call Troop B at 860-626-1840.
