NEW HAVEN — A fight lead to two pedestrians being hit by a vehicle in New Haven Tuesday afternoon and police are looking for the driver.
Authorities said the incident started as an altercation between a group of people. The suspect got into a vehicle and drove into the two people, hitting them and knocking them down. Police are actively searching for the suspect.
They said the car involved is a light-colored, Subaru, possibly an Outback or older-model Forester. The Subaru is missing its passenger side mirror. It snapped off after the car clipped the side of a building driving down the sidewalk.
Officials said their injuries were initially thought to be serious, however, after being taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, they were later found to be non-life threatening.
The crash happened at Chapel and Kensington Streets in the area of the St. Raphael campus of the Yale-New Haven Hospital at 3:45 p.m.
Streets were blocked off in the area for the investigation.
