CHESHIRE — Police said they found a body of a 71-year-old man in a body of water in Cheshire Friday night.
Cheshire police said around 7:49 p.m., they received reports of Richard Taylor of Plantsville, who left his house around 5:30 to go fishing. Police said his car was located at the New Departure Rod and Gun Club located on Cook Hill Road.
Police said a canine dog tracked Taylor’s car that led them to the body of water. Members of the Region 5 Dive Team from the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with the search, police said.
Taylor’s body was discovered a short time later in the body of water.
