MILFORD — Police said Route 15 north in Milford has reopened following a serious car accident Friday afternoon.
Police say around 2:30 p.m, three cars were traveling on Route 15 Northbound in the Milford area. Then, the third car struck the rear end of the second car. They then proceeded to hit the rear end/passenger side of the first car.
All of the occupants of the cars were taken to Yale New Haven Hospital forinjuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the third car, Gary Babon, 27, of Meriden, sustained serious injuries.
Police closed Route 15 near exit 55A due to the accident for 4 hours, and around 60 feet of steel metal beam guardrail damanged in the median. The southbound lane was also shut down temporarily while ambulances made their way to the scene.
